Lori Deschene, founder of Tiny Buddha and Author of Tiny Buddha: Simple Wisdom for Life’s Hard Questions

I get lots of emails every day, and there is one email I get that I simply can’t just delete without reading.  Whenever I get my daily inspiration from TinyBuddha.com, I look forward to an inspiring quote or a story that helps me look at things a little differently.  To put it best, it’s like sitting down to someone who just wants to chat, rather than wondering what someone wants because they’re talking to me!

Late last year I reached out to Lori Deschene, the founder of Tiny Buddha, and I was so thrilled that she was gracious enough to agree to do an interview with me.  I am so appreciative, because I know that you will love to hear what she has to say, and you’ll appreciate the tremendous insight and wisdom that she articulates so well.

Lori has written hundreds of blog posts about happiness and wisdom for both children and adults. Before starting her popular quote-a-day Twitter account, Deschene wrote articles about friendship, self-esteem, and balance for nationally distributed ‘tween publications. She continues to contribute quizzes to Discovery Girls Magazine. Over the last two years, Deschene has focused on Tiny Buddha, attracting more than 220,000 Twitter followers and 12 million page views for tinybuddha.com. A native of Massachusetts, Deschene now lives in Los Angeles where she works from assorted coffee shops and parks. Though she puts all her heart into running Tiny Buddha, she prides herself on answering the question, “What do you do?” with “I live and love.” She has spoken at the Wisdom 2.0 Conference, the Wanderlust Festival, and the first annual Bonfire Heights retreat.

I am so deeply honored to have someone who has provided so much inspiration to so many people join me on my show!  I can’t thank Lori enough for her generosity.  During our discussion, we’ll talk about a variety of things, including how to create and honor your purpose, and how to use your time in a way that is meaningful to you.
